H/S Builders, LLC brings a combined 30 years of successful experience in managing and completing residential remodels and new homes to our clients. We understand and value the investments our clients have made, both emotionally and financially, and build each residence as if it were our own. Our years of hands on trade experience and construction management ensure an expedient and well managed project.

Residential construction is a team effort and we believe we have assembled a team where each member has the same goal, to bring unmatched quality and customer satisfaction to all of our projects. Our team approach includes relationships with subcontractors that span a decade or more. This team brings commitment, communication and value to your project and delivers quality workmanship and pride in your home.

Who we are:

Our fully licensed and insured company is owned and operated by two principle partners, David Haegeland and Dan Schmidt.  We believe that the key to success in our business is to be involved on a personal level in all aspects and phases of your project.  We strive to communicate on a daily basis with each homeowner and architect and provide access at all times to discuss questions and update the progress of your project.  We know the best advertising in our business is a highly satisfied homeowner and architect and the word of mouth generated when our projects are complete.

Dan Schmidt first started his journey to be a highly skilled carpenter back in high school were he was enrolled in a building trades course and participated in building two homes as part of the course studies.  This experience made him realize carpentry and home building would be his life's work.  For over twenty years now, he has built and remodeled hundreds of the finest homes on Chicago's north shore.   

David Haegeland's experience began in his early teens and throughout his college years he worked as a  laborer/apprentice for both residential and commercial contractors.  Upon completion of his degree in business administration he teamed up with Dan Schmidt.   David's business and management skills have been key to the behind-the-scenes business operations as well as estimating and project management.
